Big birds - are a very good bait from the beginning of season to the end of season. The Big bird is a big presentation bait that works good during select big apatite times such as after spawn, after dark and when putting the fall feed bag on. Slow roll at night and speed them up during the day. This bait is responsible for a high percentage of my largest fish caught.
Electric bunny - electric bunnies are very effective during daytime hrs when the water temperatures warm up to the peak. The most effective way to fish these baits is to be burned in as fast as you can over structure.
10-9 combo - this bait was very effective this year for me as it has a different cadence in the water than your typical double blades bucktail. Staying diverse and unique is important with the amount of pressure these fish have and the 10-9 does just that. This bait also proved itself to being very effective after dark as well.
JR cowgirl is one of the old trusty stand behinds. This bait is also a great bait to be burned during the peak heat of summer. I like the JR for the simple reason as still being a decent size profile that is very easy to burn. Gold purple is a great color combo up on the northern MN lakes!
